Fairy Glen, Snowdonia
Fairy Glen is a deep ravine situated near Betws-y-Coed, and the name in Welsh is Ffos Anoddun. It was a beautiful location to visit, and has been on my list for quite some time. The photo doesn’t do justice to the natural beauty of the place. I called in here for this long exposure early morning in February, and the place is just enchanting. Fairy Glen is steeped in folklore and mythology- it is said to be the home of sprites, or that fairies controlled the waters here. It certainly feels as if you are stepping into a fairytale as you descend the steep, slippery steps down the gorge, with the soothing sounds of the river Conwy flowing through the ravine.
