The Northern Lights at Bassenthwaite
Nothing can quite describe the sense of wonder felt seeing the aurora borealis for the very first time, and incredibly at Bassenthwaite Lake in the Lake District! There was a lot of moon this night, which lit the ground beautifully, but I did worry that the lights wouldn’t beat the moon lighting up the sky. There were even some pillars! A welcome sight after many fruitless attempts trying to catch the Northern Lights.
