Talacre Sunsets
Talacre, or Point of Ayr Lighthouse, is the oldest lighthouse in Wales and was built in 1776. It watched over the Irish Sea for over a hundred years, guiding ships entering the River Dee and Mersey Estuary until it was closed in 1883. situated on Talacre beach, the most Northern point of Wales, it is a beautiful place to visit during any season. The beach itself is stunning; sandy beaches for miles, sand dunes and it is an RSPB nature reserve.
It is also supposedly one of the most haunted places in North wale- with rumours of sightings of a keeper standing at the top of the lighthouse. I can’t say I have ever witnessed this myself! The place doesn’t feel spooky in the slightest, watching the sunset here, however is enchanting.
