Tryfan Sunrise
Tryfan is an instantly recognisable mountain set in Snowdonia’s Ogwen Valley, standing 917 meters high. It is a favourite of many, as there are various routes up from grade one scrambles to proper graded climbing routes. It has a shark fin like appearance, and I was once told it is referred to as the sleeping giant, and since that day every time I see Tryfan I can see the face of a sleeping giant.
Most notably on its summit are the Adam and Eve rocks, where the brave leap from one to the other. On the way up the North ridge you come across the cannon stone, a rock that sticks out like a cannon and often on busy days there can be a queue of people waiting to have their photography taken on it.
This was taken on a beautiful hazy morning from Y Garn as the sun rose, and you can see Llyn Ogwen an Llyn Idwal. It is the perfect spot to catch the sun rising over Tryfan.
